Kyle Thompson and Dawn Carpenter from Washington have named their son Jake 2.0. The child, whose full name is Jake Matthew Thompson 2.0, was born February 4, 2004 shortly after the series was cancelled, but the couple liked the name and it stuck.
The coupls is running to several problems with the numberical designation in the childs name as agencies and companies aren't equiped for numbers in a person's name. The Social Security Administration stated that their equipment could only handle letters with hyphens and apostrophes. The child's state birth certificate reads "Jake Matthew Thompson Two Point Zero," the baby's social secirity card reads simply "Jake Matthew Thompson" and an order for a personalized baby spoon with the name Jake 2.0 came back with just "Jake" and the child's birthdate.
